Our Transformation

Welcome to Faith Connections Friday where we connect our life to faith.

Change. The Bible gives a plethora of examples of changes from beginning to end.

The changes the universe experienced at creation. The changes our ancestors experienced with life. The changes the world experienced while Jesus lived on earth. The changes we have experienced since His death, burial, and resurrection. The changes we experience at salvation. The changes we will experience after our earthly life has ended.

Wow–lots of changes!!

Do you realize that you are continually changing? Physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Each one of us is undergoing an active transformation. Let’s focus on the last two: mental and spiritual.

Mentally, we can transform our minds to help decrease the effects of aging. Choosing to actively read informative material. Doing a variety of word or number puzzles. Romans 12:2 says we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. This is through reading and memorizing Scripture. Over time, our minds will be more attuned to the things of God.

Spiritually, we are continually in process of being transformed by the Holy Spirit. Choosing to live by faith and follow Him in obedience. As Galatians 5:22-23 and Colossians 3 say, we are transformed as we exercise the fruit of the Spirit and display His characteristics. Our lives become more rich and full as we love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

Our Faith Connection: Are you different today than you were one year ago? How have you changed? Identify ways in which you are challenged to be transformed mentally and spiritually. Select an activity to increase your mind and spiritual growth.

Father, thank You for continually and slowly transforming me into the person You want me to be. May I live a life of seeking You with all my being. In Your precious name. Amen.
