X Marks the Spot

The letter “x” is full of different meanings. It is quite unique. It represents the Roman numeral for ten, which signifies completeness or perfection. X is an unknown variable in algebraic equations. It can be a mark for someone who cannot write their name. It is the Greek letter, “chi,” for Christ. And, of course, X marks the spot.

Over the last several weeks, we have identified many of His attributes throughout Scripture that have given us an example to follow. We follow His example by loving one another (John 13:15) and displaying the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). We read of the examples of those who have gone before us and their lives of faith (Hebrews 12; 13:7).

Since this is Faith Connection Friday, we can connect these meanings to our faith in Christ. He, of course, is unique–there is no one like Him. He is perfect and complete in all His ways. Though He may be unknown to many, He will become known if we desire to know Him. He will be found if we seek Him. Therefore, if you seek wholeness, He is what you need to be complete.

Our Faith Connection Challenge: Read the Bible passages above (and others), and focus on an attribute for this week. Make note of how this characteristic is reflected in your life.

Precious Lord, You are the true example to follow. May I follow Your example and reflect You so others desire to know You. In Your Name, Amen.
