For Such A Time As This

Welcome to Faith Connections Friday! May you receive encouragement today for such a time as this …

Isn’t it amazing to see how God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things for Him? The slave girl who told her master, Naaman, to see the prophet, Elisha, to be healed. Rahab the harlot hid the spies, her family was saved, and she is in the lineage of Jesus Christ. The disciples were ordinary fishermen and tax collectors, and they were used to build the Church. Before Esther became queen, she was ordinary. She was an orphan and adopted by her uncle, Mordecai. Yet, God positioned her to do something extraordinary for her people.

Throughout Scripture, it is amazing how each character was uniquely positioned at the right time to complete a specific assignment. Many were ordinary people. And yet, each one was in a certain place for a certain season for a certain purpose.

Esther’s account brings encouragement. She was the one God appointed to rescue her people, the Jews. Scripture suggests that if Esther chose not to complete what she was asked, God could use someone else to accomplish His purpose.

“For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish [since you did not help when you had the chance]. And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?” (Esther‬ ‭4:14‬, AMP‬‬)

For past opportunities, what have I decided not to do? What blessings have I missed? For present opportunities, what if I am chosen this season for a specific task? Will I choose to obey and be the instrument God uses to fulfill His purpose? I hope that I would make the right choice.

Personally, I want to make the most of every opportunity. I do not want to miss a blessing. I am in this place for a season for a special purpose. Don’t miss yours! You may be the very person God wants to use to meet someone’s need or fulfill a special task. Each of us is in a certain place for a certain season for a certain purpose.

Our Faith Connections Challenge: You are exactly where you are for a specific purpose. Identify the opportunities before you and embrace them. Be blessed!
