A Colorful Life

Welcome to Faith Connections Friday! It is such a joy to have you join us. Thank you.

The Easter season is a time in which we recognize the meaning of new birth. An aspect of celebrating new birth is associated with the season celebrated later in the year–Christmas. The birth of our Savior, the coming of the One who has given us a reason to celebrate Easter.

Though the celebrations of Easter and Christmas are months apart, we can be so very thankful for Christ’s birth because He knew that one day Easter would come. Therefore, for joy, He went to the cross (Hebrews 12:2). He knew that we were the reason He came into the world. Oh, isn’t this reason enough to celebrate? The Son of God came to earth so He could die and provide for our salvation so we could live with Him forever!

Interestingly, two of the colors identified with Easter are pink and blue. Pink, or rose, is a color of joy and fresh beginning. The color of blue symbolizes Jesus’ birth. The blue color of heaven symbolizing Christ coming to earth, and the color of pink symbolizing the joy of the new birth He gives. It reminds me of the song, “Lord, I Lift Your Name on High,” which says it perfectly.

Lord, thank You for loving us so much that You chose to come to earth to die so we could live. We are forever grateful. In Your Name, Amen.
