“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalm 34:8, NKJV)

One of my favorite passages in Scripture is Psalm 34. It so beautifully describes many ways in which our Lord is so very good. There are so many moments in which I do not recognize His goodness. Still … The Creator of the universe listens to my cries for help .. He is always with me .. He takes care of me even when I am afraid of the unknown. More ways He demonstrates His goodness from this psalm:

* He hears me when I seek Him (verses 4, 6, 15, 17)

* He delivers me from all my fears (verses 4, 7, 17, 19)

* He provides my needs (verses 9, 10)

* He watches me (verse 15)

* He stays with me (verse 18)

* He saves me (verses 18, 22)

If you are in need of encouragement today or are curious about the goodness of the Lord, I invite you to taste and see! I know you will not be disappointed.

Our Faith Connections Challenge: Read Psalm 34 aloud. Read it again, and slowly meditate on each verse. Identify a verse that sparks an interest. Write the verse on a card or sticky note, post it in a prominent place, and review it throughout the day. Continue this practice with other verses. At the end of the week, evaluate how you have seen the Lord’s goodness. Share your thoughts and insights with a friend. Be blessed!!

Precious Lord, You are so good! We are so undeserving of Your goodness. May this precious one be encouraged by Your Word today. Thank You. In Your name, Amen.
