“Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.” (Vince Lombardi)
One of the reasons this quote caught my attention was the uniqueness of the statement, “Every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it.” The statement is deeply personal. It explains that each job is unique to me. Each has my mark, my signature. Each job is a picture of me.
These personal reflections are challenges that also make me vulnerable. Those who evaluate the tasks I perform see the quality of my work, my skill level, and my personal confidence. As I examine my work, I ask these questions. Am I pleased with my effort? Am I presenting each task with excellence? Is the final result top quality? Is my attitude appropriate? And so many other questions to consider!
Today’s blog is filled with personal thoughts as I approach each unique task. Hopefully, they are challenges you may consider adapting. Whatever and wherever your task may be–at home, work, or in the community. Each job or task you perform is unique. It is a picture of you.
Our Connections Challenge for the week: As you go throughout each day, ask what level of excellence you would like to see as the result of each task you perform. Ask the questions above to help guide you.
