Welcome to Faith Connections Friday!
We are in a series for the next several weeks focusing on Psalm 119. If you would like to read ahead, read the entire psalm or a section each week. We are so glad you are here and hope you enjoy the series! Thank you!

Let’s discover some interesting connections together!
Take a look at the passage for this week: Psalm 119:153-160.
The Hebrew letter for this section strongly connects to wisdom. As you read this passage, notice the various words for Scripture in each verse. What’s the connection? Well, how do we receive wisdom? Through the Word. Wisdom connects to the Word.
The Word repeatedly talks about the importance of wisdom. Refer to our Psalm 119 passage. Notice that the word “revive” is mentioned three times. Revive means to give life, restore to life, bring back to life, renew life. (You get the idea.) How is the psalmist asking God to revive him? Here’s the connection again. According to the Word. Proverbs even compares wisdom to a tree of … life (Proverbs 3:13-18). Here’s the next connection. Wisdom and the Word connect to life.
Wisdom connects to the Word. The Word connects to life.
How can we connect wisdom and the Word to life? What’s the application?
Over 2,000 years ago, a tree had grown to its fullness. Its purpose was significant. It would be cut, shaped, and bound together to form a cross. This cross would serve as the instrument on which our Lord Jesus would die. Yet, His purpose of dying on that cross (made from a tree) is to give you and me … you guessed it … life! (1 Peter 2:21-24).
Now, when we read the Word and ask God for wisdom, He graciously gives it so we can know true, fruitful, and flourishing life with Him (James 1:5, Psalm 1:3, Psalm 92:12-15, Jeremiah 17:8).
Faith Connections Challenge: Review the verses referenced, and think about these connections. To get wisdom, we must read and study the Word. When we do, we get to know the Source of true life—Jesus!
