Which is best—the mountains or the water?

If you could vacation at the mountains or the water, which would you choose and why?

Definitely the mountains! Why?

This big city girl grew up in the heart of Texas. We did not travel further north than Oklahoma. So, I had never actually seen and experienced the mountains. My husband is from Virginia so the mountains were not new to him. When we got married, we drove from Texas to our honeymoon destination of Asheville, North Carolina. As you can imagine, when I saw the mountains for the first time, it was childlike wonder. I was forever captivated. Today, we live where the mountains are just minutes away. And the awe of the views continues.

We recently returned from vacationing in the national parks in Wyoming and Montana. The majestic distinctiveness of the formations is exhilarating. The freshness of breathing in the crisp mountain air is stimulating. The variety of color (especially in the fall) is breathtaking.
