Recently, my husband and I drove part of the Blue Ridge Parkway. I grew up in Dallas, so when we honeymooned in Asheville, North Carolina, I was in awe. The awe continues, especially since I now live close to the mountains. They are inspirational.
We stopped at a trail for a short hike and to take some pictures. When we returned to the car, I noticed this sight. The rock protruding from mountain. It may not look that impressive in the photo; to me, however, it is magnificent.
As I pondered and stared in amazement, my thought was, “God is so good. He put this here, and I get to enjoy it!” I recall an earlier drive that was so breathtakingly beautiful, I thought, “Heaven must look like this–but better.” Wow!
Some definitions of “good” from Merriam-Webster include “deserving of respect, commendable, of the highest worth, something conforming to the moral order of the universe, praiseworthy character.” Basically, excellence.
As we consider the majesty of the mountains, our creative Creator is deserving of the respect in making something of such beauty to behold. Excellence.
Here are a couple of my favorite photos from the mountains. Enjoy them. Isn’t God just so good!? Yes, He is. God is good all the time. All the time God is good.
