Welcome to Faith Connections Friday!
My husband recently spent a few days with our son and his family. When my son and daughter-in-love picked up our grandbabies from school, Papadude was there to greet them too! Oh, the smiles and hugs!
The next morning, the 3-year old could not wait for Papadude to get to their house. The minutes apart (which seemed like hours) were too long. Instead of trying to explain, the picture says it all …

When we connect waiting to our faith journey, we learn that it connects to hope.
Waiting develops and strengthens you. Isaiah says that the benefits of waiting are renewed strength and deepened fellowship with the Lord (Isaiah 40:31). There is a renewed energy to continue in the purpose that God has for you. Our faith develops and strengthens with time focused on prayer and reading or listening to and meditating on God’s Word.
Waiting gives you time of discovery and reflection. We are comforted in knowing that our pains in this life will end when we pass into eternity. The Scripture says in Romans that our present sufferings are minimal when compared to the joy we will experience in Heaven (Romans 8:18-19).
Waiting ends and brings eternal joy. Eventually, these earthly trials will end, and there will be ecstatic joy. The psalmist awaited the promise that he would eternally live in the presence of the Lord (Psalms 27:4, 14). He knew that joyous day would come.
Faith Connections Challenge: Spend time in prayer and reading or listening to and meditating on God’s Word. Praise God for who He is and thank Him for what He is doing in your life. Keep a journal of praises, prayers, thanks, and the lessons God is teaching you. When you look back, you will see His great faithfulness and goodness.
