Welcome to Faith Connections Friday!
Whether or not we have physical children, we all can influence others and younger generations. Parents teach their children how to live godly lives and prioritize God’s Word (Deut 6:4-9). In the gospels, we witness Jesus teaching and training His disciples. Paul was a spiritual father to Timothy. Each of these examples stress paying careful attention to the Word and learning how to exhibit a lifestyle of godly character and conduct in daily living.
As a physical or spiritual parent, one can also exercise blessing. Turning our attention to Paul, we see the lengthy recorded blessing of encouragement to his spiritual son, Timothy, in the book of Second Timothy. Paul exhorts Timothy to be strong and courageous in the world as he faces challenges. He reminds Timothy to not forget what he learned and to be an example to others as to how they, too, can live with strength and courage in the world.
Faith Connections Challenge: Wow, the Word of God is so rich! Take time this week to read the complete book of Second Timothy. It contains four amazing chapters that will inspire and encourage you.
If you do not have a copy of The Holy Bible, download the YouVersion app from your mobile device. Go to the New Testament to the book of Second Timothy. Read and be encouraged, my friend!
