Simple Connections

Last week, we took an amazing and relaxing road trip to the national parks in Wyoming and Montana. We revisited destinations, explored new territory, and experienced awe of the majestic natural beauty.

Through all the hours of traveling and exploring, what caught my attention is the ways people connect. A fun and popular travel game is searching for all fifty states and Canada. If you or someone you know lives there or previously lived there, it can be easy to connect. Clothing that promotes a location or school sparks a conversation. Workers wearing a name tag with their name and home state or country welcome questions from guests about their home and what brought them to the destination.

Connections Challenge: Making a connection can be as easy as playing a game, recognizing something familiar, or expressing interest in a place you wish to know more about or visit. As you travel the unfamiliar and familiar places, notice something unique about another traveler, worker, or colleague. Start a short conversation. A simple question or pleasant comment can encourage someone greatly.
